Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport
On arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will be received by a Heritage Safaris tour guide who will transfer you to the hotel already booked for you. Depending on your arrival time, you will do a city tour to introduce you to the history and culture of this land of a thousand hills and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
You will have an early morning breakfast and leave the hotel towards the Western province, on your way, visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province. You will have lunch enroute and then proceed to Nyungwe National Park, arriving at the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience
Your visit is to see the primates, with 13 species of Chimpanzee resident in the forest. You will go to the park head office for briefing before heading to track chimpanzees. After lunch you will go on a canopy walkway at Uwinka. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Colubus Monkey Tracking – Tea Plantation Visit
After breakfast, we go for Colobus monkey tracking and visit the tea plantation and later head to Kibuye along the Kivu Lake; you will have a fantastic view of the country of a thousand hills.
Day 5: Kibuye – Kigali – Departure
After Breakfast, go for a boat ride and visit different islands in the Kivu lake. After you will visit the environmental museum in Kibuye before heading to Kigali for your departure flight.
